Tim specializes in work with younger male adolescents and children who have absentee fathers either emotionally or physically. Through an experiential process,
Tim works to interest and excite the kids, which in turn evokes "change." The more excitement, the quicker the change. Tim's child-centered treatment model
is designed to meet the broad-ranging interests and desires of the
children and to support the needs of their families.
Through a selected series of recreational experiences
such as camping, fishing, river rafting, mountain climbing, sailing, etc.,
which stimulate the child's own self awareness and his place in nature, the therapeutic
process is shortened. By connecting with a child in a natural
mentoring activity, the child develops a new and essential internalized model of self-esteem, competency, mastery, and a vision of future possibilities.
Tim works with families
to assist parents in understanding and guiding their child's positive
development. Regular meetings with parents or guardians during the
course of therapy is required for consistency and a positive outcome.
